  • Biography

    Andy began his career with Copolymer (previously (DSM) in Baton Rouge, LA In 1984 as the manager for Midwest accounts. Through his initiative Copolymer’s sales revenue increased from 12 million 26 million in two years. This was accomplished through a focus on strong technical support, developing formulations specific to the processing demands of the individual customer.

    In1986 Andy moved to ChemRep in Palatine, IL again as manager of the Midwest territory. ChemRep is a small representative and distributor servicing the Rubber, Plastic and Adhesive industries. During Andy’s 4 years with ChemRep they experienced a 5 fold increase in revenue from 1.2 million to 5.6 million. During his time there he was involved with warehousing, order processing, shipping and receiving, inventory control, sales, marketing and obtaining new lines for expansion. Some of the companies represented were: Advance Resin Inc., Dwight Products Inc., Grieve Corporation Inc., J.M. Huber Inc., Witco Corp., International Sulfur, Moriyama Corp., Oyster Shell Products, Polymeric Inc., Raytheon Corp., RubiChem Inc., Silmix Inc., Thermal Care/Mayer, Vulcan Materials Corp., Zochem, and Polar Minerals.

    In 1990 Andy formed ABCHEM with a vision to provide technical sales as opposed to commodity sales. ABCHEM is committed to a hands on approach to enhance its relationship with customers, and to provide guidance and support before and after the sales. They strive to maintain a call frequency every 6-8 weeks.

  • Biography

    Cheryl Heffner has been in the plastics industry since 1979. She started her career with Wedco, Inc. (now A. Schulman/ICO Polymers) and continued for 20 years. Her background with ICO included Quality Assurance, Sales and Plant Management. During her Wedco tenure, she provided leadership and support to successfully register seven (7) US facilities to ISO 9002:84. She was assigned to various US facilities as the “turn-around specialist” to improve efficiencies and resources.

    In 2000 she joined Ingenia Polymers (formally WedTech) as Business Development Manager. Her primary focus was to fill the pulverizing and compounding capacities for their Houston, Texas facility providing toll services to produce concentrates and finished compounds to Producers in the Gulf. In 2004 she moved into their Southeast Masterbatch division to expand Masterbatch sales into film, blow molding and injection markets.

    In 2006 Cheryl became Quality Assurance/Technical Sales Manager for Brunk Corp. located in Goshen, Indiana. Cheryl provided Quality Assurance leadership to the Goshen and Bloomington, Minnesota facility, including their transportation sector, AJP. Her focus also included diversification from strictly polyethylene to other polymer systems, including engineering grades.

    In 2012 Cheryl joined ABCHEM, a manufacturer’s representative supplying chemicals and process equipment to the rubber and plastic industry.
